Counselling allows you to process your thoughts with more clarity. It is a guided conversation, where understanding helps you to make plans towards breakthrough. The Parable of the Seed in Luke 8:4-8 talks about Christian's deeper root issues. For some, this service is also helpful when facing more specific or complex life challenges.

A: They’re similar because they provide goal-oriented help and work with insight and behaviour change. Both use a range of therapy modalities to support clients. For example, The Parables Place’s counsellors are trained in Human & Faith Development Models, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Trauma-focused Therapies, and Narrative Therapy.

Q: What are the main differences between a Psychologist and Counsellor?

A: Psychologists are trained to provide diagnosis and are typically focused on treating more severe anxiety, depression, and complex trauma. Counsellors are professionally trained to support clients with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, and trauma. More experienced counsellors support clients facing more complex situations; however, counsellors don’t provide diagnoses.
