Who we are
The Parables Place is a support centre for churches, pastors, lay leaders and individuals. We offer Bible-centered discipleship workshops, counselling and consultations. We believe life is a training ground where God prunes and equips us for His purpose. God calls us to love our neighbours and to make disciples of all nations by sharing the Gospel, that is, having a conversation with others about our hope in Jesus. The process is a mix of motions of trying, waiting and trusting. We take knowledge into a deeper heart level; we trust the powerful work of the Holy Spirit to bring behavioural transformations into our lives.
Our Mission
The Parables Place's mission is to help Christians re-invent themselves for God's purpose. Culturally, we are comfortable redefining and re-creating the subtle differences in definitions and individuality. Consciously or unintentionally, we spend a lot of time fortifying an individualised image. The adverse effects may be excess self-focus and isolation. Instead of trying to rewind the culture, what if we re-invent it for God's purpose? What if we can pull together all the shining individuals with our unique expressions, gifts, skills, personalities, etc ... for His purpose? We need the shinning vessels to shine for God as a church. This mission is much like 1 Corinthians 12:12, one body but has many parts. Our mission is to help you to move from your God-given identity and refocus ourselves to His purpose.

My-Plan-to-His Workshop: Romans 8:28 reminded us that our lives are about His purpose. In this workshop, we will look at your personalities and how God may be challenging you to choose Him in your daily decisions. What are some practical ways to build Christ-like characters and a missional lifestyle?
Soil Counselling: The Parable of the Seed in Luke 8:4-8 talks about Christian's deeper root issues. This service is for those who are looking for a Christian counsellor for more specific or complex life and faith challenges.
Our Team
Sobee Wan is one of the pioneers of The Parables Place. She is currently a Youth Counsellor with the Chinese Christian Church Hills District. She was an entrepreneur for 15 years and transitioned into leadership development and pastoral care as a Senior Pastoral Associate at The Vine Church HK. She is a professional counsellor who is sensitive to social and faith issues. She believes in listening to the dreams of our next generation and helping them discover and use their talents to worship God.
Our team and our beliefs. We use a range of research-based frameworks and tools. Our beliefs form the foundation of who we are and the content. Most often, communication tools that bring awareness to personalities and core values are simple and have proven to be effective. It is always a collaborative effort with you so that you will know about the methods involved.
